Dagens Dagsorden

Vi vil det bedste – for alle. Det vil vi vel alle. Og det bedste for alle er, at alle forstår, hvad der er vigtigt. Og derfor skal de have det at vide. Og det er jo derfor, der findes dokumentarfilm: så vi kan fortælle alle om, hvad der er vigtigt. Hvad der er på dagsordenen – eller burde være det.
Det er jo også derfor, at man kan opleve folk spørge: Jamen, hvad vil du egentlig sige med din film? For vi er bare blevet så vant til, at dokumentarfilm selvfølgelig skal gøre det: sige noget om noget. Om noget helt konkret.
Og derfor kan man også møde filmkonsulenter og tv-redaktører, der spørger dig: Hvad skal din film betyde – og hvorfor vil du egentlig lave den film?
Så er der bare, at jeg vrider mig lidt i stolen og tænker, at dagene for den kunstneriske dokumentarfilm her i landet er talte. For er det ikke det, der er kunsten? At den taler for sig selv – og ikke skal bruges til at advokere for et eller andet?
Personligt gider jeg meget sjældent se agendabårne dokumentarfilm. Selvom jeg o…

Creative Europe and Me

Once I was someone else. I was someone who thought he would be a good “expert evaluator” for Creative Europe (or MEDIA as it was called). And if nothing else, I thought I would learn something for our own future applications ... and even earn a buck while doing that. So, I applied on the call and signed up to be part of the “expert evaluator” team in the field of international applications for European support for documentaries, both single projects and slate funding.



I filled out the forms with my education, film production experience and knowledge of the international documentary field – and forgot all about it. A few years later, I was suddenly approached by mail and first it looked like a scam or a phony mail. But no, they really wanted me to assess incoming applications and had accepted me as an “expert”.
They probably also should introduce a psychological test before they enroll people because as it turned out…
